I’ve been browsing, you know, online. Chloe keeps popping up EVERYWHERE. FWRD’s got ‘em, Farfetch is slinging ‘em, even Chloe themselves (duh) are pushing their stuff. And it’s not just dresses and bags, which, let’s be real, are the usual suspects. They’ve got a *whole* thing going on with jackets and coats. Like, a serious commitment to outerwear. You can step out in style, the ads say. I mean, yeah, if you’re stepping out in a Chloe coat, you’re probably stepping out in style. Unless you, like, spill coffee all over it. Then you’re just stepping out with an expensive coffee stain.
And the pants! Oh, the pants. Joggers, flares, jeans…it’s a whole denim-y, leg-covering extravaganza. Apparently they’re *exclusive* Chloe pants. I always wonder what makes something “exclusive” besides the price tag. Is it, like, hand-stitched by unicorn tears? Probably not. Still, they *look* good.
But here’s the thing that gets me about Chloe. It feels…familiar. Like, I *know* I’ve seen this aesthetic somewhere before. Then I read something about a designer returning to the Maison, and it kinda clicked. It’s a vibe, a feeling, a certain *je ne sais quoi* that’s been cultivated over time.
Which, hey, speaking of vibe, I saw something about a Style Guide. For designers and front-end developers. I’m guessing that’s not about clothes. Or maybe it IS about clothes, but in, like, a very technical, user-interface-y kind of way. I dunno. It’s all a bit confusing, honestly.
Anyway, back to the clothes. I think Chloe does a really good job of making things look effortless. Even though, let’s be clear, there’s nothing effortless about spending that much money on a pair of pants. But hey, if you’ve got it, flaunt it, right? And if you’re a budding fashionista, apparently there’s exclusive girl’s apparel too! Who knew?
