See, I’ve been thinking about this lately because I just treated myself to a cute little black Saffiano leather wallet (don’t judge, I deserve it!). And, okay, Prada *does* use sustainable packaging, which is awesome. Like, seriously, good on them for thinking about that. But sustainable doesn’t necessarily mean *discreet*, you know?
The thing is, you don’t necessarily want your delivery guy (or your nosy neighbors) to know you just dropped serious cash on a designer wallet. It’s a safety thing, but also… just a privacy thing, right? You don’t wanna be flashing your wealth around, even inadvertently through your packaging.
And the packaging itself? It’s important! Prada knows this. They want it to reflect their brand, to be luxurious and high-quality. But sometimes, that translates to being… well, *obvious*. Like, giant logo, fancy ribbon, the whole shebang. Which is great for unboxing videos (guilty pleasure!), but maybe not so great for keeping things on the down-low.
I saw something about Prada making sustainable nylon backpacks… which, cool. But how does that translate to wallet packaging? Are we talking recycled cardboard? Plain brown boxes? Or are they still gonna wrap it in a mountain of tissue paper with a logo the size of my face?
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t *actually* received my wallet yet (the anticipation is killing me!), so I’m just speculating here. Maybe they’ve gotten smarter about it. Maybe they understand that some of us prefer a little… subtlety.
