Anyway, I’ve been digging around online, trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Naval News, bless their geeky hearts, was all over this Type 09IIIB nuclear attack sub that was doing sea trials. Then there’s this other, smaller submarine spotted at the Guangzhou Shipyard – the one with the weird X-shaped rudder and no sail. Super creepy.

And that’s where the “Guangzhou Submariner” (which, again, I think is a hilarious misnomer) comes in. Some intel dude named MT Anderson (gotta love those three-letter names, right?) spotted it. Info is, like, super scarce. Makes you wonder *why* they’re being so secretive, ya know?

Then you get into the whole drone submarine speculation. I saw something about a “GIANT Chinese submarine” and that’s supposed to be a drone sub? That’s really weird if it’s a drone sub but also giant. That just seems backwards.

Honestly, this whole thing feels like a jigsaw puzzle with half the pieces missing. You’ve got the nuclear sub, the mysterious small sub, this giant drone sub thing, and everything’s being built at the Guangzhou Shipyard. It’s like, what are they *doing* down there? Building some kind of underwater army? Is it a new drone sub for a new type of military tactic?

And speaking of that shipyard… didn’t they also build that JARI USV stealth trimaran thing? And they’re building amphibious barge bridges? This is getting seriously James Bond-y, isn’t it?

Look, I’m no expert, okay? Just some random person trying to make sense of this stuff. But it seems pretty clear China is investing a *lot* in its submarine fleet. And the fact that they’re being so secretive about some of these projects? Well, that just makes me even more nervous.
