First off, why are those Hermes sandals even so damn expensive? Is it just the name? Probably a big part of it. I mean, it’s Hermès, duh. But I guess they also use good leather and stuff, and probably have some fancy French elves crafting them or something (okay, maybe not elves). But honestly, I don’t need fancy elves, I just need something that *looks* good!
So, where do you find these magical dupes? Well, apparently Amazon is a goldmine. Who knew? I mean, it makes sense, they have everything, right? I saw some that were, like, eerily similar. Just search “Hermes Oran dupe” or something like that and prepare to be amazed. Just uh, read the reviews first, okay? You don’t want your foot to fall through the bottom after two wears. Been there, done that, not cute.
Then there’s French Sole. I haven’t personally tried them, but I’ve heard good things. They might be a bit pricier than the Amazon ones, but probably better quality. Think of it as a *slightly* less budget-friendly but still-way-cheaper-than-Hermes option.
And then, the old faithful, Steve Madden. Steve Madden ALWAYS has a dupe for something. It’s practically their business model. You can usually find something that gives you that Hermes vibe without breaking the bank. Plus, you can probably find them at like, DSW or something, maybe even with a coupon! Score!
Personally, I’m all about the hunt for the *perfect* dupe. Like, the one that’s so good, even a Hermes salesperson wouldn’t be able to tell the difference (okay, maybe they would, they’re probably trained to spot a fake from a mile away, but still!). It’s like a treasure hunt, but the treasure is footwear.
One thing though – and this is just my opinion – the best dupes have a flat footbed. I just think it looks more authentic. The weird thing is, sometimes the dupes are MORE comfortable than the real thing! I heard someone say that once, and I thought, “blasphemy!”, but then I tried on a pair of legit Hermes sandals and…they were kinda stiff? Maybe they need breaking in, I dunno.
