So, I tripped over a bunch of websites that are totally down for creating receipts. I mean, they’re advertised as “Create Custom Receipts,” which is, like, code for “fake receipt generator,” right? Let’s be real. One site, MakeReceipt (they seem to own the internet when it comes to this stuff), had a whole section on “How to make fake receipts for Fetch Rewards!” Which, okay, that’s a specific use case, I guess?
Then there’s NeedReceipt.com, promising custom receipts in “four simple steps.” Sounds easy enough, even for me, and I’m, like, constantly losing my keys. And Receipt Builders is bragging about being the “best receipt maker” and offering “professional templates.” Professional… for faking receipts? That’s a new one.
Now, I’m not saying you *should* do this. I mean, ethically? Questionable. Legally? Probably a grey area, depending on what you’re using it for. Don’t go defrauding people, okay? That’s just, like, bad karma.
But let’s say, hypothetically, you *were* going to make a fake receipt for kids clothes. Why, I have no idea. Maybe you’re playing a really elaborate game of pretend with your kids? Maybe you need it for a school project (though, seriously, find a *real* receipt, that’s way less risky). Or maybe you just want to… idk, confuse your spouse? (Don’t blame me if that backfires.)
The point is, these websites exist. They let you plug in the store name (Target, Old Navy, whatever), the date, the items (like “Superhero Underoos” or “Sparkly Unicorn Leggings”), and the price. You can even, like, add tax! And then, BAM! Fake receipt.
Honestly, it’s kinda scary how easy it is. Like, it makes you think about all the other things people are faking online. Yikes.
