So, basically, Dolce (that’s Domenico, born near Palermo, Sicily in ’58) and Gabbana (Stefano, Milan boy, born in ’62) are the two Italian dudes who cooked up this fashion empire back in 1985. Seems like a lifetime ago, huh? They met… I think it was when Dolce called the… uh… well, one of the snippets just *ends* mid-sentence there, doesn’t it? Classic! Anyway, point is, they met somehow, probably fate or something dramatic.
It’s kinda interesting ’cause like, they were actually a couple for a while, or so I heard. But they called it quits on the romance in 2005, but kept the whole D&G thing going strong. Talk about awkaward, but also, props to them for making it work.
Dolce, apparently, got his start helping out his dad in the family business, learnin’ the ropes. I guess you could say fashion’s in his blood or somethin’. Gabbana, I’m not totally sure, but he’s from Milan, which, let’s be real, *screams* fashion, doesn’t it? Milan = Fashion, amiright?
What I think is really cool is that Dolce & Gabbana’s brand is like, super Sicilian. Like, straight outta a postcard. Think dreamy Mediterranean vibes, you know? That’s totally their thing. It’s more than just clothes; it’s a whole aesthetic, a lifestyle, a (very expensive) dream. I mean, I’d love to rock some D&G while sipping Aperol Spritz on a yacht, wouldn’t you?
And get this, Dolce’s parents apparently packed up their lives and moved to Milan to support their son’s dreams. That’s some serious family support, right there! It kinda makes you wonder, if they hadn’t, would we even *have* Dolce & Gabbana? Food for thought, people!
Look, they’ve definitely had their fair share of controversies, too. You can find all sorts of gossip about them on the internet, it seems. BUT, despite the drama, they’ve managed to build a billion-dollar brand, which is pretty impressive, I gotta admit.
